The attempt by the FCC to insert government monitors into media centers has gone over like a lead balloon, so it is being put on hold.  Not canceled, mind you, just on hold until a more devious approach is designed.  (h/t Fox News)  In the meanwhile, however, Sebelius’s HHS has let a solicitation for a “social media analytic tool” that will give the government access to “full Twitter historical data,” according to a solicitation released on Tuesday.  (h/t Free Beacon).  The long list of requirements includes “access to real-time social media posts,” and “access to full Twitter firehose.”  The Office of the Secretary of HHS claims that social media monitoring is necessary since the agency is responsible for ensuring “preparedness” for public health threats and emergencies.

Right.  I wonder how long it will take Sebelius to figure out that any opposition to Obama can and should be construed as a public health threat and emergency.  Or maybe she already has.  Hence the solicitation.

Ju-u-u-st wondering…
