Lore is short for the German name Hannelore.

Lore is a teen girl whose parents are arrested just after the end of World War Two.  She undertakes to lead her four younger siblings from the Black Forest all the way to Hamburg to grandma’s house, witnessing, along the way, the physical and human devastation that Germany had suffered.

A body blow of a film, very much worth seeing.  But not with kids around, at least the first time.  Streamed by Netflix.

I'm a grumpy Czech-born clinical social worker who is vitally interested in the survival in the United States as a viable democracy and a beacon of hope for the rest of the world.
