In the aftermath of the Sandy Hook tragedy, a nationwide hate propaganda campaign against gun ownership exploded.  Community organizers of every stripe opened their oral cavities wide, demanding instant action on this and that, calling everyone not of their ranks every imaginable name in the book, and voicing threats that, if spoken by any civilized person, would be cause for immediate arrest.

Not to be outdone, the Journal News of Nyack, NY decided to do their bit of community organizing last month by publishing the names and addresses of all gun permit holders in New York’s Westchester and Rockland Counties.  This had two predictable consequences.  First, it provided criminals with a data base of places they might raid without getting shot in the process.  Second, it generated such an uproar and a flood of unfavorable mail and phone calls that the Journal News staff felt they needed protection.   (People who dare to disagree with the Journal News are obviously deviant and dangerous.)  And so the paper hired –armed guards with guns.  (h/t Politico)

Why guns?  Why not ballistic versions of Change We Can Believe In, with carefully sharpened edges?  Paper cuts do hurt!

I would like to call this a lesson learned, but something tells me that it isn’t, and won’t be.  The campaign of hate will go on, and any antisocial and even obviously criminal acts will be permitted as long as they accord with the SOP (socialist one-percenter) world view.
