WAS DR. SEUSS A CRYPTO-ISLAMOPHOBE?

This is tough to swallow…

Spain is having significant troubles with its growing Moslem population.  This should not surprise anyone who has observed the quiet, but steady Islamic imperial expansion into Europe and the studied cowardice of the European authorities whenever confronted with Islamic violence and terrorism.

Among the more ridiculous Islamic idiocies committed in Europe, this one takes the cake.

In 2010, a Moslem family in southern Spain’s La Línea de la Concepción had serious beef about a professor of the Instituto Menéndez Tolos, where their son went to school.  The hapless prof had apparently insulted Islam by mentioning ham in class, and they sued him for his troubles.

Key questions for the 21st century: What did Dr. Seuss know about Islam when he wrote Green Eggs and Ham?  Did he write the book to offend Islam?  And did he secretly delight in portraying the ultimately successful attempts by the Jewish boy Sam (Shmuel, y’know) to force the unnamed man (clearly a good Moslem who refused green eggs and ham) to partake in the forbidden food?

Isn’t it time for Dr. Seuss to bite the dust?

Jay Carney, where are you?

Would be hilarious were it not so sadly indicative of the state of western European and American “thought.”
