Not A Lot of People Know That reports on the sudden silence with respect to weather in Texas. Last year, because of a draught, advocates of anthropogenic global warning (AGW) had wailed about “permanent draught” in the state (Joe Romm), not to mention “global weirding” (Katherine Hayhoe).
This year, because of 26.56 inches of rain since last September, the doomsayers have gone very quiet. If one looks at this one data point, one may always claim that “this is weather, not climate” but it turns out that, if you look all at the available data, this is very much the average for Texas for 1895-2012.
I am waiting with quasi-bated breath to see how the AGW advocates will spin this.
