The University of Virginia, to its credit, has rejected the Obama campaign demand that it host an Obama campaign event for Virginia’s Albemarle County. One of the reasons cited was the extreme disruption of campus routine at the venues demanded by the Obamites. Full story is here. UVA did offer one venue, the John Paul Jones Arena, but the Obamites rejected it, deeming it “not academic enough.”
The Invesco Stadium, of course, was sufficiently academic, but then that was so 2008.
Or maybe the faux columns made it so.
My own guess is that the failure called Obama would have a hard time filling up just a few rows of a stadium, and the embarrassment of speaking at a practically empty venue would be too great.
