PJ Media reports that the Obama administration is threatening to veto the National Defense Authorization Act because of a number of objections.  This is business as usual, except that one objection stands out as yet another demonstration of the administration’s excessive Islamophilia.

At issue is the authorization to award Purple Hearts to the victims of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil.  Specifically, the Act mentions the November 2009 Fort Hood terrorist attack by Major Nidal Hasan, in which 13 were killed and 29 wounded, and the June 2009 Little Rock terrorist attack by Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, in which one soldier died and one was wounded.  The administration’s excuses are that “Hasan’s actions were not representative of his Muslim faith,” and that “[t]he criminal acts that occurred in Little Rock were tried by the State of Arkansas as violations of the State criminal code rather than as acts of terrorism; as a result, this provision could create appellate issues.”

As the evidence amply showed, both Hasan and Muhammad were firmly plugged into the international Islamic terrorist system, and they committed murder in the name of Islam.  If there is a lawful reason for U.S. servicemen not to be awarded Purple Hearts for death or wounds suffered on U.S. soil, so be it, but this isn’t it.
