The Hill reports that Mitt Romney has jigged, jagged, did the Vienna waltz, zigged, zagged and sashayed, spent 15 minutes doing a square search and finally did the spinning dervish, and came out believing that the individual mandate is conservative. (h/t Gateway Pundit)

Requiring people to have health insurance is “conservative,” GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney told MSNBC on Wednesday, but only if states do it.

Exactly how is overweening government on state or even local level any less tyrannical than on the federal level? (The Shakespearean phrase “insolence of office” comes to mind.)

Not to be cute or anything, but does that make slavery okay if only states do it? (No, belovèd censors of WordPress, I don’t believe in slavery at all, so don’t report me to the Cowardly Holder…)

Rombamacare, anyone?
