Back in March 2011, Venezuelan
thug leader Hugo Chavez was given the press freedom award by the Argentine University of la Plata. He was given this award because he had spent ten years savaging the independent Venezuelan media to ensure that only the real truth, i.e. Chavez’s truth, could be told.
Now comes Barack Obama, who promised the most transparent administration ever. In the same month that Chavez was honored for
destroying preserving real press freedom, March 2011, Obama was given the government award for transparency running a shop as tight as the KGB headquarters at the height of the Cold War. (h/t Hot Air)
Characteristically, the press was not invited, and the event did not even make the public schedule. This was to ensure that only Obama’s definition of transparency, i.e. his word taken at face value, could not be disputed.
Incidentally, the Obama White House is now involved in trying to protect the
secrecy openness of the WH visitor log…
