On hearing the Usama bin Laden had been killed, German Chancellor Angela Merkel remarked that she is “glad” that he is dead.  A few days later she was hit by a criminal complaint penned by Hamburg judge Heinz Uthmann.  (h/t Bruce McQuain at Hot Air)

Judge Uthmann cited

…section 140 of the German Criminal Code, which forbids the “rewarding and approving” of crimes. In this case, Merkel endorsed a “homicide.”…The violation is punishable by up to three years’ imprisonment or a fine.

I can hardly comment on this better than Bruce McQuain himself, so I’ll leave it alone.  But I again shake my head in wonderment at how many different ways there are to spell the seemingly simple word “putz.”
