INSTANT EVOLUTION IN TENNESSEE?

While watching tonight’s ABC World News (around 6:35 PM EST), I heard the most astonishing thing.  ABC reporter Steve Osunsami, all spiffy in hip boots, stood thigh-deep among half-submerged houses near the Mississippi River, rhapsodizing about the historic flooding in Tennessee and telling his audience about “snakes and fish running around here.”

Hmmm.  I wonder if this sudden evolutionary feat (no pun intended, really!) is nature’s revenge for the famous Scopes Monkey Trial that took place in Tennessee.  Or maybe it’s just the result of Mr. Osunsami’s slightly histrionic nature – after all, he did choke up on November 05, 2008 while announcing that Barack Obama had won the election.
