I like to read Partial Objects for fun and intellectual stimulation. The article on the “Stay Extraordinary” Diet Coke ad, which challenges you to think about the ad and discover its many messages, caught my eye. And so I watched the ad, all one minute of it.
As might be expected, as many ethnicities as can be crammed into sixty seconds are represented more or less equally as having fun and being post-modernly fulfilled and successful. Except – you guessed it – black men.
Hmmmm. Interesting message you’re sending there, Coca Cola Company.
I don’t think I’ll buy any of your products any more.
