I’m beginning to waver on this one. Assange may be an amoral schmuck, but if his revelations ultimately contribute to the collapse of the Obama putzocracy, he might yet deserve to be hailed as the savior of freedom and democracy throughout the world.
To wit, the following horrifying headline from today’s The Telegraph:
This, apparently just to get the Russians to sign Obama’s new (anti-American and pro-Russian) START Treaty.
If any of this is true, I wonder if the Brits can prosecute the putz (as opposed to “the schmuck”) under their Official Secrets Act.
I see Winston Churchill’s bust turning over in its repository, wherever that may be now.
But here’s a thought: let the new House leadership officially ask the long-suffering British for the bust, then display it prominently next to the Speaker’s chair as long as genuine democrats (i.e. not Democrats) are in charge. Once the putzocracy is deposed (how many days, hours and minutes until 2012?), let there be a very ostentatious ceremony to install the bust back in the White House, complete with a Churchillian-quality speech about what freedom is, what it is not, and how the British held up their end when it really counted and should therefore be seen as our closest allies.
Damn, but I’m mad!
