Great Britain, in the grip of the worst winter in decades, is having serious problems with “green” heating systems (h/t American Thinker). These new and progressive designs that promised to reduce customers’ “carbon footprints” as well as electrical bills, had been forced on the British public by the Labour Party five years ago. At the same time, the older systems, which were designed with the capitalist and reactionary (and no doubt fascist/Zionist) goal of keeping people warm, had been outlawed.
Apparently, the green design turns out to be quite flawed. In very cold weather, certain components freeze up, causing the whole system to shut down and often cause permanent damage. Repair and replacement costs are reported to be outrageous. Moreover, the new and progressive systems only last 3-6 years, as opposed to the 20-plus years for the older, capitalist systems.
This is what happens when community organizers, who are typically long on ideology but short on the realities of science and engineering (in other words, they are truly green, in the negative sense of the word), get to dictate policy. One is reminded of Ed Whitacre, the Obama appointee to run
Government General Motors, who famously said that he knows nothing about cars. Ditto about the progressive folks at the EPA who, like the British environmental rasputins, know so very little about science (not to mention democracy) but are poised to rule by ukase anyway.
One wonders how this nonsense is going to be stopped in Great Britain. Perhaps the British should take a lesson from us uncouth colonists and grow a Tea Party movement of their own. Since isle-bound Britannia has ruled the waves for so long, maybe they could call themselves the SEA Party (SEA=Socialized Enough Already).
