MORE SPECIAL TREATMENT FOR SPECIAL PEOPLE

According to Associated Press and USA Today (h/t Prison Planet), a TSA agent stole five laptops and a PlayStation in March 2009 while processing airline passengers at Philadelphia International.  He was reported, tried and sentenced to a fine and five years, but his jail time was commuted to three years probation, apparently because of the man’s prior military service.

Well….no, thanks, says this military veteran.  That’s one special treatment I don’t want.  I served my country gladly, and the occasional good deal at the commissary and the 10% discount at various patriotic hardware stores is enough for me.

I am a citizen, with a citizen’s responsibilities, and if I mess up, land on me please.  The Constitution that I pledged to defend applies to me in full measure.
