Today, J. R. Dunn has published The Rise of the Thug Left, a summary of increasing leftist violence in the United States over the course of what the Chicago über-elitist Val Jarrett had referred to as Obama’s rule. The conclusion is that the increasing leftist violence is somehow a sign of fragmentation and impending collapse of the left.
Caution, please! A violent left is not necessarily a dying left. It may be a thriving left whose leaders have decided that the situation is now so favorable that they can drop all pretense and show off their goon squads for what they really are: private totalitarian armies. Their mission? Why, first intimidate us into submission and then rule us on behalf of “the ruler.” After all, the current leaders of the violent left have had a whole generation to think about the shortcomings of their approach in the 1960s and to figure out how not to make the same mistakes again (chief lesson – don’t attack from the outside, but burrow in and rot things from the inside).
But this might help. In a July 02, 2008 campaign speech in Colorado Springs, that is, long before his entry into the White House, then-Senator Obama had let us know in no uncertain terms that he had definite plans along these lines:
“Loving your country shouldn’t just mean watching fireworks on the 4th of July…Loving your country must mean accepting your responsibility to do your part to change it. If you do, your life will be richer, our country will be stronger…We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set…We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded.”
To this, I would add that this new civilian security force (read “a combination of SEIU and other class- and race-based thugee entities”) must be:
- fanatically politized,
- slavishly loyal to Obama,
- viewing the average citizen as its greatest object of hatred, and
- fearing nothing quite as much as democracy and liberty for all.
Understand this, and you will understand where the leftist thugs are coming from.
